Hi welcome to my profile my name is Melissa I am a person-centred therapist able to work with individuals aged 16+.I strongly believe that mental health is just as important as physical health. No matter how difficult things may seem, I am here to support you through the obstacles that you may be facing. Therapy actually helped me through my own issues with binge eating, stress, depression, and anxiety.
About me and my practice
I work in person at Liverpool City Centre and online/telephone across multiple locations. Person-centred therapy is a talking therapy. It works by providing a safe, accepting, and confidential space where you can explore what is going on in your life without any judgement. It can help by allowing you to talk freely, increasing self-awareness, developing acceptance, and helping you to make positive changes. I understand that everyones experience is different so we can progress at a rate that is comfortable for you.
Experience
Before going into private therapy practice, I worked in retail, care/support work, at harmony general counselling service, and Liverpool domestic abuse service. I work with a range of issues; however, my main experience and interest is with depression, SAD, stress, anxiety, relationships, neurodivergence, abuse, and eating disorders. I regularly engage in clinical supervision and training to ensure my continuing professional development, I am insured and I hold an enhanced DBS.
